Jérôme Lavertu, an employee at the Bécancour Smelter Inc. (ABI), took the initiative to form a group to fundraise for the Cédrika Provencher Foundation. For this collection, which took place in the factory cafeteria on September 20, 21 and 25, Jerome gathered members of the ABI emergency brigade. In addition, during the first noon of collection, the Bécancour Smelter Inc. received Mr. Henri Provencher, Cédrika’s grandfather.
The totality of the contributions received will allow the Cédrika Provencher Foundation to act effectively and to give back to the society in the form of realization of important projects for the safety and the protection of the children.
Jerome for his part explained the reason and importance of this approach for him:
“For all, it’s about something that does not make sense. People say that it needs to change, but to get there, you have to take action. I hope this will have a snowball effect on others to make the foundation known and supported. This cause touches me personally because my wife and I have three young girls; a 3 year old, an 8 year old and a 10 year old. That’s why I find it important to help the mission! ”
The fund raised a total of $ 408.30. ABI, for its part, has committed to match the amount raised, which raises the total amount to $ 816.60!
